(JPEG 206,430 bytes) The
earliest digital picture of Greg that I could find is
this picture of Mike's second birthday. Paulette is
helping Mike stand on the chair, Greg is looking down
at the table, and I am to Paulette's left. Charles is
missing from this picture; he believes he was probably
"helping" Mom, and Christine was just an
infant at this time.
(JPEG 115,534 bytes) This is
a picture of all six siblings in early spring 1971.
Paulette is the oldest girl, Charles and Greg fill in
the top row, and I'm holding Mike who is holding Chris.
(JPEG 123,486 bytes) Greg
is pictured here on a mountainside somewhere in Alaska.
Greg lived and worked in the largest U.S. State for
about 16 months after he graduated from Yale and
experienced Alaska's long winter and summer days.
(JPEG 134,766 bytes) Greg
always did like ties. Here he is in an early portrait.
(JPEG 265,984 bytes) Charles
is on the left, Greg in the middle, and Mom is holding
Aladdin. This picture was taken in front of the Mom and
Dad's Chicagoland house in December 1995.
(JPEG 252,938 bytes) The last
time the entire family was together was at Charles' first
wedding, August 1995 in Poulsbo, WA. From left to right
are myself, Mike's wife Kaarin, Mike, Mom, Charles, somebody
in a white dress, Dad, Christine, Paulette's then-husband
Randy, Paulette, and Greg. Charles has since found the
right person and is much happier.
(JPEG 247,155 bytes) This was
the last picture of the brothers standing together. I
am on the far left, then Mike, then Charles, then Greg
who was Charles' Best Man.
(JPEG 261,260 bytes) In an
effort to observe Halley's comet in April 1986, the
family booked itself on a Caribbean cruise. We also got
to visit the isle of Gilligan. Greg and Mike are flanking
Mom and Dad in the top row, and Charles and I are flanking
Paulette and Chris in the seated row.
(JPEG 277,157 bytes) At my
May 1993 graduation, the family went for an outing of
Frisbee golf. Paulette, Mom, Kaarin, and Christine fill
in the back row. Dad, myself, and Mike are in the center
row, and Charles and Greg are in the front row.
(JPEG) This is a portion
of a picture of Greg at our brother Mike's wedding to
Kaarin. The complete photo shows the whole family, and
was the first picture I had of Greg in digital form.
I airbrushed out the background and surrounding family
members to create this picture of just Greg.
(JPEG 172,993 bytes) from
PhotoCD This is a picture Greg's apartment building,
and includes the site where he died. Greg's apartment
is on the opposite side of the building, thus not visible
in this picture. This picture was taken Wednesday August
28, 1996 and getting it on PhotoCD uncovered unresolved
quality problems at Kodak's labs that soured me forever
on using PhotoCD.
(JPEG 259,652
bytes) from PhotoCD Charles and Christine left
flowers in the apartment the day we finished packing
Greg's things. Mom and I placed them on the ground
where Greg died. Each flower represents one of the
surviving family members. This picture was taken Friday
August 30, 1996 and getting it on PhotoCD uncovered unresolved
quality problems at Kodak's labs that soured me forever
on using PhotoCD.
(JPEG 156,718
bytes) from PhotoCD Mom couldn't find any chalk,
so she scratched her message in the asphalt with a
bit of rock. This picture was taken Friday August 30,
1996 and getting it on PhotoCD uncovered unresolved
quality problems at Kodak's labs that soured me forever
on using PhotoCD.
